π€ Who can do this? You will need your Fivetran Account Reviewer (who can view account information, destinations, and connectors) to follow the steps below β you may not have access yourself. Note: You will also need Fivetran Enterprise (or above) to use this integration.
πͺ Did you know? You will need Fivetran Enterprise (or above) to use this integration. If you're not yet on such a plan, Atlan may be able to help you access a trial period from Fivetran. Just reach out to your Atlan contact!
Generate API key
π¨ Careful! Fivetran only supports a single, account-level API key. If one already exists, creating a new one will destroy the existing key. The connectivity for any applications integrated using the existing key would then be broken. So if a key already exists, you should ask within your organization for that key rather than generating a new one.
To generate API credentials for crawling Fivetran:
- Log into Fivetran as a user with the Account Reviewer role.
- From the upper left corner of your Fivetran instance, click the drop-down with your account name, and then click Manage Account.
- Change to the Settings tab.
- Under the API Config heading, click the Generate button.
- Copy the API key and API secret values to use when crawling Fivetran.
π¨ Careful! This will be your only opportunity to copy these API credentials. If you forget, you will need to generate new credentials and update them anywhere they were used in other applications (like Atlan). (Any other integrations in the future will also need this key, so keep it somewhere safe in case others need it in the future.)
Reuse API credentials
If an API key already exists, ask around within your organization for the key. There is no way through the Fivetran UI to retrieve the existing key.
