Can non-admin users make changes to definitions, classifications, or certificates?
This is all dependent on whether they are connection admins and the metadata policies in place.
A member or a guest user will be able to make changes to a column's classifications, certificates, terms, and more if at least one of the following is true:
- The user is a connection administrator.
- The user is associated with any persona or purpose that would allow them to make such changes.
A member or a guest user who is neither a connection admin nor part of any persona or purpose will see every single asset in Atlan with a lock icon. This limited access means that they will not be able to make any changes to the column's classification, certificate, terms, and more.
You can find additional information in what happens when users do not have access to metadata.
