What are groups?

Groups provide a way to organize many users together. You can use them in the same way as individual users, but at a more abstract level.

They help you scale your governance of data and metadata in Atlan as your teams grow.

For example, you can use groups to:

  • Isolate the administration of different data sources
  • Assign asset ownership
  • Maintain access policies across a team of users
💪 Did you know? Creating groups comes in handy when a new person joins the team. You can add the new person to one or two groups instead of adding them to many objects and policies.
